揭示了基努·维斯扮演的尼奥回到监狱的新生活，尽管他的角色在原三部曲的结尾牺牲了。他对自己之前的冒险，没有任何的记忆。这部电影中，他遇到了一个更强大的对手，自然我们期待着一场史诗般的对决。
